Howard Stern Returning To America’s Got Talent: ‘My Work Is Unfinished There’

He loved being a part of the judges’ bench, so it should come as no surprise that Howard Stern is returning to NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”

“I am going back… I have signed up for [my second season] of ‘America’s Got Talent,’” he said on Monday’s “Howard Stern Show” on SIRIUS XM Satellite radio, clips of which were posted on his YouTube Channel.

Howard said he wanted to return to the fold because he has more to do.

“I really feel my work is unfinished there,” he said. “I really do think I can find a superstar act. I really just feel like I can do something great.”

The judge said one of the things he loves about the show is the opportunity to make stars out of people whose talent isn’t singing, but rather comedy or getting hit in their nether regions by various objects.

“Tom Cotter or Horse or any of these people — I just find it so refreshing that we have people who can get this type of exposure who have a shot at stardom,” he said. “I believe this is the only show that has this kind of clout for what I will say is non-singers.”

So far, Howard is the only judge back on the bench for the next season, and while he expects Howie Mandel to return, he’s not sure what will happen with Sharon Osbourne’s former seat.

“I don’t even know who the other judges are. Of course, I assume Howie will be there, but Sharon I know is out. I will miss her and that by the way weighed in [on my decision]. I really liked working with Sharon,” he said.

Howard hopes whoever does join the bench is someone he likes. If he doesn’t like them, Howard said it could lead to problems.

“That’s gonna make the job tedious, and boring and aggravating,” he said.
