Hunger Games: Liam Hemsworth Injures Knee Shooting Catching Fire, Promises ‘Much More Action’ In Upcoming Film

Fans of “The Hunger Games” trilogy will be happy to learn the next film in the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ dystopia novels will stay true to the book in terms of action.

Liam Hemsworth, who plays hunky Gale Hawthorne in the films says “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will offer noticeably more thrills than the first movie.

“There’s a bunch of action in this one,” the 22-year-old actor told USA Today. “All of the characters have much more action than they did in the first one.”

However, with more “action” and stunts comes the possibility of more injuries — a statistic that recently caught up with Liam while filming in Georgia.

“I twisted my knee,” he revealed. “I try to just fight through it. There’s so many people standing around waiting for you to do your thing. You feel sort of obligated not to let everyone down.”

While Josh Hutcherson (who plays the beloved Peeta Mellark in the films) has promised fans he’d be even more buff in the upcoming sequel, Liam said he had to focus on thinning out.

“It’s ‘The Hunger Games,’” he said. “My character needs to look hungry. A little bit.”

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is slated to hit theaters on November 22, 2013.
