Jennette McCurdy’s Mother Passes Away; Nickelodeon & Disney Stars Offer Condolences

Jennette McCurdy, star of Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat,” lost her mother on Friday.

Debra McCurdy died after a lengthy battle with breast cancer and her 21-year-old actress daughter is understandably devastated.

“Jennette has suffered an unimaginable loss,” the actress’ rep told E! News. “Please respect her and her family’s privacy at this time of mourning. She appreciates the love and support of her fans.”

According to a 2011 article Jennette wrote for the Wall Street Journal, her mom had been battling breast cancer for 17 years. After temporarily going into remission for over a decade, in 2010 Debra’s cancer returned and spread to her brain.

While Jennette last Tweeted on Thursday, her beau, Detroit Pistons player Andre Drummond, took to Twitter on Friday, writing, “Damn. In a dark place right now.

“First time in my life, I don’t have all the answers for something.. ugh,” he later added.

Jennette’s “Sam & Cat” co-star Ariana Grande also Tweeted, writing, “I love you Jennette McCurdy.”

Bella Thorne Tweeted, “Love, prayers and condolences to my beautiful friend Jennette McCurdy and her family. My heart is with you. Much love. I just texted u.”

Danielle Fishel, who will soon be seen on Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World,” also offered condolences, Tweeting, “My thoughts are with Jennette McCurdy today. Can’t imagine losing my mom so young. Heartbreaking,” while “Shake It Up” star Zendaya Tweeted, “Jennette, thoughts and prayers to you and your family…I’m so sorry for your loss.”
