Jennifer Aniston turned 42 a few days ago, and during an appearance on this Wednesday’s “Rachael Ray Show,” the actress and the foodie bonded over the pressures faced by women over 40.
“Because I am over 40, people do not stop asking me, ‘When are you gonna have kids? How come you don’t have kids?’ It makes you a little grumpy around the edges,” Rachael, 43, told Jennifer
“Well, ‘cause all of a sudden you’re labeled, you’re a number,” Jennifer chimed in. “It wasn’t like, ‘30-plus or 30 something.’ It’s just that all of sudden, it’s like, ‘Wow for your age, not so bad.’ It’s like, ‘What?’”
“It’s a real drag,” Rachael replied.
“It’s weird,” Jennifer added.
During her appearance, the “Just Go With It” star also confirmed she is seriously considering moving to New York City.
“I have been, yeah. It would be a bicoastal thing,” Jennifer told Rachael. “But I want to get back. I grew up here.”
Jennifer isn’t sure yet which side of the city – uptown or downtown — she’d like to live in, just yet.
“I’m not sure yet. I grew up [in] uptown, so I maybe, I have to figure out, I like uptown, I like downtown,” she said.
The actress also opened up about her childhood after an audience member asked her what career she would have undertaken had she not become an actor. After revealing she would have enjoyed becoming a doctor, Jennifer said she might have gotten hung up on surgery seeing as frog dissection in biology class didn’t work out so well.
“The incision into a frog – which I didn’t feel was a good thing to do… I tried to protest, and say, ‘I don’t,’ and they were like, ‘Shut up, please, this is 1980… 5,” she laughed.
“Oh God,” she added. “Date yourself.”
