Jerry Bruckheimer: ‘Top Gun’ & ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Sequel Talks Continue

Hollywood producer extraordinaire Jerry Bruckheimer has action-packed projects in the works in the air, land and sea!

Access Hollywood caught with Jerry at CinemaCon 2012 in Las Vegas, where he gave an update on the highly anticipated sequel to “Top Gun” and another installment from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

“We’re talking, we’re talking,” he told Access when asked about a follow-up to Tom Cruise’s 1986 aviation blockbuster – something that he wouldn’t ever consider making without the superstar attached.

“You don’t make it without Tom,” he added.

On Wednesday, Paramount president Adam Goodman said Tom might even move forward on the “Top Gun” sequel before he would start work on yet another hot sequel that fans are hungry to see.

“We’ll likely make a ‘Top Gun’ sequel with Tom Cruise [before the next ‘Mission: Impossible’]. Jerry Bruckheimer would produce, with Tony Scott returning to direct. All parties are moving ahead. We’ve hired Peter Craig to write the script,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.

As for another trip on the seven seas with Captain Jack Sparrow, Jerry said a fifth movie is being planned.

“We’re working on it. We’re getting closer,” he told Access.
