Johnny Weir Gets ‘G.U.Y.’ Details From Lady Gaga (Exclusive)

Lady Gaga pulled out all the stops for her latest video for “G.U.Y.,” including shooting at a location that has been off limits for more than 50 years!

Access Hollywood guest correspondent Johnny Weir chatted with Gaga about her epic shoot at Hearst Castle, which has not allowed anyone to film there since the movie “Spartacus” in 1960.

“I feel very honored. I feel like Hearst Castle chose us. It’s not every day that they let anyone shoot there, they haven’t shot since Stanley Kubrick shot there,” she said referring to the Oscar-winning movie with Kirk Douglas.

The video, which Gaga directed and will debut on “Dateline” on Saturday, was no walk in the castle’s park.

“It was a great experience… writing the treatment working with everyone and I was like, ‘Don’t touch anything, and if you knock over a sculpture I’m going to pass out!’” she told Johnny.

“What do you want people to feel when they watch it?” Johnny asked.

“The intention of the video was to create something that was a true sort of road map of my journey, being an artist, a pop singer, a creative person,” she said.

“What so many people care about is the fashion. Do you have fashion credits? Who made those wings, who made your arrow?” he asked.

“The wings [I wear] were made by Jim Henson Studios, the arrow, the House of Gaga made it,” she revealed.

Adding, “It’s interesting because in this video… the fashion and the psychotic sort of whimsy is all happening around me and it’s me almost like ‘Alice in Wonderland’ going through my own rabbit hole in my brain and re-experiencing the past year of my life.”

Despite the challenges, the singer loved creating the spot.

“Every moment that we were filming together was really joyous and really fun,” she told Johnny. “I have a theory that if you can capture that feeling on film it will last forever and if the shooting experience is really exhausting and terrible and stressful, it will come across, right.”
