Jon Hamm Gearing Up For A ‘Sucker Punch’

On “Mad Men,” Jon Hamm is the slick and brilliant advertising executive Don Draper, but soon fans will get to see another side of the actor.

According to MTV News, Hamm has joined the likes of “High School Musical’s” Vanessa Hudgens and “Watchmen’s” Carla Gugino in the cast of Zack Snyder’s “Sucker Punch.” Snyder previously directed “Watchmen.”

The movie, which is due in 2011, follows a young woman played by Emily Browning, previously of “The Uninvited,” whose mean stepfather institutionalizes her. There, she comes up with an alternate reality and an escape plan.

Other stars attached to the film include “Stop Loss” actress Abbie Cornish and “The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys” star Jena Malone.

It’s unclear what Hamm’s character will do in the film, but the odds are good he’s a betting man — his name will be High Roller.

Hamm is currently in Los Angeles completing the third season of AMC’s “Mad Men.” The acclaimed television drama premiered on Sunday and took home its highest ratings ever, with 2.8 million people tuning in for the show.
