Josh Duhamel Returning To ‘All My Children’ Before Series’ End

Josh Duhamel is heading back to Pine Valley, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” actor, who rose to fame playing Leo du Pres on “All My Children,” will return to the soap for a cameo before the long-running daytime series concludes on ABC this fall.

“Everyone at ‘All My Children’ is thrilled and excited to welcome Josh back to Pine Valley,” “AMC” Executive Producer Julie Carruthers said in a statement. “The appearance of Leo is sure to be one of the highlights of the season.”

Duhamel’s former love interest on the show, Greenlee, played by Rebecca Budig, has left the show a few times since his own departure in 2003, but she’s back on the program now, and it’s likely his return would involve his former on-screen paramour.

Duhamel, who won an Emmy for his work as con artist Leo in 2002, isn’t the only big screen actor to return to their former soap stomping ground before a series cancellation.

Julianne Moore returned to “As The World Turns” just last year, before that soap left the air.

ABC’s “One Life To Live” will bow out in January 2012 and it has a number of big screen stars who count Llandview, Penn., as their first major on-screen locale, including a boyish Ryan Phillipe, a pre-“Melrose Place” Marcia Cross and Tommy Lee Jones.
