Josh Hutcherson: Catching Fire ‘Epic,’ ‘Much Bigger’ Than Hunger Games

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will deliver even more punch than the first movie, says series star Josh Hutcherson.

The highly anticipated next installment in the series opens in just days and Access Hollywood caught up with the 21-year-old actor – who plays Peeta Mellark – at the “Catching Fire” Los Angeles premiere, where he dished on what fans can expect.

“It is very epic, it’s much bigger,” he said of the second movie, which finds Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta back in the arena fighting for their lives, yet again.

“The whole story just blows up into a whole another level,” Josh continued. “The second movie becomes so much about the different districts and the whole politics of Panem, so they are just such different movies. It’s hard to really compare them.”

Josh also teased that Katniss’ attention will be torn between Josh’s Peeta and Liam Hemsworth’s Gale Hawthorne.

“Katniss is a confused girl and there are a lot of qualities about Gale that she loves and qualities about Peeta she loves,” he explained “I wouldn’t want to be in her predicament!”

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” hits theaters on November 22.
