Josh Hutcherson Planning Hometown ‘Hunger Games’ Screening

Josh Hutcherson might be starring in one of this year’s hottest movies, but the young star is planning to celebrate the opening of “The Hunger Games” far from the spotlight of Hollywood.

Access Hollywood caught up with the star, who plays Peeta Mellark opposite Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen, at a screening in New York City on Tuesday night where he revealed where he’ll be for his big opening weekend.

“I’m having a hometown screening for all my friends,” the 19-year-old actor, who hails from Union, Kentucky told Access. “It’ll be very nice… I’ll be able to be with my family and friends.”

The actor, who called the excitement over the film “a once in a lifetime experience,” might also surprise some of his hometown “Hunger Games” fans with a big treat this weekend.

Access asked Josh if he might sneak into a few local theaters in Kentucky to watch the movie amongst his fans.

“Maybe, we’ll see,” he added.

“The Hunger Games” with Josh, Jennifer and Liam Hemsworth opens in theaters on Friday.
