Julianne Moore Talks ‘Still Alice’: Shedding Light On Alzheimer’s Was ‘A Privilege’

Julianne Moore took home the SAG Award for her work in “Still Alice,” where she plays an early-onset Alzheimer’s patient.

Speaking with Access Hollywood after her big win, the actress said researching the disease and its sufferers in order to serve the role was “amazing,” and “a privilege.”

“People were so generous with their time and their information and their experience. I learned a tremendous amount,” Julianne – who took home the award for best performance by a female actor in a leading role – told Access’ Shaun Robinson backstage at the SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night. “And I was very touched, and really did my best to try to understand, and asked questions about what felt like and how their lives have changed and how they were coping.”

Adding, “A lot of their language actually ended up in the film.”

Now that she’s taken home a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her “Still Alice” performance, is Julianne thinking about a potential Academy Award win?

“I’m trying to take this all one step at a time,” she said. “This was such a lovely honor.”
