Kate Hudson Talks Glee Fun: ‘It’s Like Being A Little Kid Again’

Kate Hudson is having a ball in her new role on “Glee” (playing feisty dance teacher Cassandra July), but the actress admits she wasn’t immune to a little bit of anxiety as she began to shoot her first scenes on the FOX hit.

“Yeah, [I had] nerves, but [I was] more excited I think because it’s like being a little kid again,” Kate told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman at the “Glee” Season 4 premiere party in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “Doing all three – singing and dancing and acting and I love it. I just love it!”

The blond beauty will guest star in at least six episodes on the show, but didn’t rule out the possibility of extending her “Glee” stay.

“I’m at the mercy of television, I guess. That’s how it works – you never know when you’re going to show up in an episode,” she said, adding that her character has an interesting backstory which gets “pretty saucy.” “We’ll see where it all goes.”

Kate’s character is very harsh on Rachel (Lea Michele), but the actress said Lea handles her cattiness like a champ.

“Lea’s so great — we have a good time. But every time they yell, ‘Cut,’ I’m like, ‘I’m so mean!’” she said, with a laugh. “But it’s great.”

Catch Kate on the Season 4 premiere of “Glee” — tonight at 9/8c on FOX.
