Kathy Ireland Suffers Surfing — Not Dancing — Injury

Kathy Ireland hasn’t even hit the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom, but she’s already been injured.

The mom and lifestyle expert hurt herself while taking a breather from practice with professional partner Tony Dovolani, Tony confirmed to Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell.

Kathy took her son, Erik, on a surfing expedition in Santa Barbara and was injured after the board hit her leg and it left her with a cut.

“Surfing with our son Erik—Ouch– cut- in my leg,” Kathy Tweeted on Sunday over the incident. “trip 2 ER–DH on duty–sewn up & heading home.”

The model-turned-mom, 46, was given seven stitches by her very own husband, Greg Olsen, an emergency room doctor in Santa Barbara and Tony told Nancy the stitches are due to be taken out in a week.

Tony revealed he was shocked when he found out his latest partner was injured (Nancy, his partner last season, suffered a pre-“DWTS” competition injury and had to bow out before the season started).

“You did what?” Tony reacted when he found out about Kathy’s incident. “And you weren’t even dancing! Save the injuries for the dance floor.”

But the injury hasn’t slowed Kathy down in the slightest.

Tony told Nancy that Kathy actually practiced “more” this week following the injury than prior to receiving her boo-boo.

And Tony added that he had high praise for his partner.

“It didn’t slow her down a bit,” Tony said.
