Katy Perry Scores Lenny Kravitz For Super Bowl Halftime Show

Touchdown Lenny Kravitz! The singer will join Katy Perry for a truly Super gig.

Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show headliner Katy announced she’s added Lenny to her slate during an exclusive interview with NBC on Saturday, which aired during the AFC Divisional Playoff game featuring the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots.

“My first special guest is going to be an incredible rock and roll icon, a guitar god. I’m gonna have Lenny Kravitz on the show,” she told “Today” show’s Willie Geist. “He’s got so much style…He’s the coolest. He’s the king of cool and he’s gonna make me so much cooler that day.”

Katy wouldn’t reveal many more specifics, but Willie has already teased one of the production elements she plans to incorporate into her performance.

“[A] retractable roof plays into her Super Bowl act,” he Tweeted.

What songs might we hear? Willie predicted Lenny’s famous cover “American Woman.”

“We’ll see,” Katy responded with a twinkle in her eye.

Super Bowl XLIX will be broadcast live from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on Sunday, February 1 on NBC.
