Keira Knightley Negotiating To Star In Jack Ryan Origins Film (Report)

Keira Knightley may soon be playing Mrs. Jack Ryan.

The actress is in negotiations to star alongside Chris Pine in the upcoming action thriller “Jack Ryan,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is a prequel to the famed Tom Clancy-penned Jack Ryan novel series (whose film adaptations previously featured stars including Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin), and will center around “ex-Marine and Moscow-based financial analyst Jack Ryan” (played by Pine), THR reports.

If negotiations are successful, Knightley will play Ryan’s wife, whose life is threatened after the former soldier unearths a terrorist plot seeking to force the collapse of the U.S. economy.

David Ellison (“Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “True Grit”) will serve as executive producer, with “Thor” director Kenneth Branagh at the helm. Branagh recently confirmed he also has a role in the project.

Production on the film is scheduled to begin in September, the website reported.

Knightley, 27, was recently seen on the big screen alongside Steve Carell in “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.”

The newly engaged Brit (her fiance is rocker James Righton of The Klaxons) also recently wrapped production on Joe Wright’s film adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s classic love story, “Anna Karenina.”
