Kevin Costner Reacts To Bobbi Kristina Brown News

Kevin Costner, who co-starred with Whitney Houston in 1992’s “The Bodyguard,” is saddened by Bobbi Kristina Brown’s situation.

After the 21-year-old was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta home on Saturday, Kevin said he’s pulling for his late friend’s daughter, who remains hospitalized.

“I’m watching like everyone else,” he told Access Hollywood at the 14th Annual AARP Movies for Grownups Awards Gala in Los Angeles on Monday night. “It’s very sad for what the situation is.”

The “Black and White” star, who was honored with AARP’s Career Achievement Award, said “Everybody’s hoping this little girl pulls [through].”

Kevin famously spoke at Whitney’s memorial service in 2012, and delivered a very moving speech, recounting to mourners how the superstar doubted if she was “good enough” and “pretty enough,” even after her massive success.

“Whitney, if you could hear me now, I would tell you, ‘You weren’t just good, you were great,'” Kevin said of Whitney’s “The Bodyguard” performance at her funeral at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, at the time. “You sang the whole damn song without a band. You made the picture what it was. A lot of leading men could’ve played my part, a lot of guys could’ve filled that role, but you, Whitney, I truly believe that you were the only one that could’ve played Rachel Marron at the time. You weren’t just pretty, you were as beautiful as a woman could be. And people didn’t just like you, Whitney, they loved you.

“I was your pretend bodyguard once, not so long ago, and now you’re gone too soon, leaving us with memories of a little girl who stepped bravely in front of this church, in front of the ones that loved you first, in front of the ones that loved you best, and loved you the longest,” he added.
