Kevin Spacey To Host Tony Awards

Kevin Spacey is heading to the Tony Awards.

The film, television and theater star will host the 71st
Annual Tonys on Sunday, June 11, in New York City, it was announced on Tuesday.

“I was their 2nd choice
for ‘Usual Suspects,’ 4th choice for ‘American Beauty’ and 15th choice to host
this year’s Tony Awards. I think my career is definitely going in the right
direction,” the “House of Cards” star said in a statement.
“Maybe I can get shortlisted to host the Oscars if everyone else turns it
down.”

Kevin’s performance in “Lost In Yonkers” won him a Tony in 1991.

“We’re excited to be
working with a witty and charming host who is not only a Tony-winning actor and
fan of live theatre, he’s also a president who is a true champion of the
arts,” Executive Producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner said in a
statement.
