The search
for Kristin Cavallari’s missing brother has come to a sad end. Michael
Cavallari has been found dead, Access Hollywood can confirm.
“We want to thank
everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult
time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been
found,” Kristin said in a statement released to Access on Thursday.
“This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly
ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”
According to the sheriff’s office in Grand County, Utah, a search
for Michael was launched on Nov. 27 after his vehicle was found abandoned off
Interstate 70.

Orange County, Calif., records indicate that the 30-year-old had been
arrested and briefly taken into custody just days earlier. It is believed Michael was travelling from California to
Illinois to see his sister at the time of his disappearance.
As
previously reported, Kristin took to Instagram on Monday to thank fans for
their support as the investigation into Michael’s whereabouts continued.

“I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers
that have been extended to me and my family,” the former reality star
wrote, captioning a throwback photo of her and Michael as children. “We
remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude
for all those that have shared their support.”
Kristin and her husband, Chicago
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, welcomed their third child, daughter Saylor
James, on Nov. 23.
