Kurt Warner Talks Marriage, ‘Dancing’ Jealousy & His Budding Bromance ‘Situation’

Two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champ Kurt Warner stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday (along with his wife, Brenda) to talk about his latest move from the field to the dance floor for Season 11 of ABC’s hit reality competition, “Dancing with the Stars.”

The former quarterback and father of seven, who was recently named an early “contender” by “Dancing” judges, opened up to Billy Bush and Kit Hoover about the marital strain caused by dancing with his sexy, scantily-clad partner, Anna Trebunskaya.

“That was one of the challenges getting into this thing, you know, what’s this gonna be like for our marriage?” the self-proclaimed “family man” told Billy and Kit, of the steamy dances often seen on the hit show. “But [my wife] has done tremendous with it… My partner is also married, and we have a relationship with them as a couple, and I think that’s helped.”

“There’s definitely challenges when [Brenda] sees me dancing very intimately, very closely with another woman,” he continued. “It’s important that we make sure that she knows I’m committed and I’m honoring our marriage in everything that we do.”

Kurt and Brenda, who have been married for 13 years, credit the success of their union to their strong faith and “finding time” to spend together.

“We have to make our marriage our priority,” Brenda told Billy and Kit. “With seven kids, you don’t get a lot of time… But we make time for each other… I think that we just have a lot of fun together.”

“Obviously — seven kids — we’ve had a LOT of fun together!” she laughed.

Kurt also revealed he has a burgeoning bromance with a somewhat unlikely “Dancing” cohort: “Jersey Shore’s” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

“I have an 18-year-old daughter in New York, and she’s seen [‘Jersey Shore’], and was like, ‘Oh I can’t wait till you and [‘The Situation’] get together — it’s gonna be hilarious,’” Kurt said. “And then I had to text her and be like, ‘I love this kid! He’s awesome!’”

“[Mike’s] a great kid,” Kurt added. “He’s doing the best he can with some great opportunities that he’s got right now and you know, he’s real. And I think that’s what I love about him.”
