Larry King’s Attorney: ‘There’s A 50-50 Chance This Divorce Is Not Happening’

Larry King’s split with Shawn Southwick, wife No. 7, has been at the top of the headlines for a week, but could the divorce actually be off?

According to the CNN host’s lawyer, Dennis Wasser, that actually could be the case.

“There’s a 50-50 chance this divorce is not happening,” Wasser told People on Monday. “His focus is on the best interest of his children. It’s not clear to me which way he’s going to turn on this issue.”

In a separate comment to Access Hollywood late Monday, Wasser said “Larry and Shawn met with a counselor today. It was decided that there will be no divorce activity for two weeks as several issues need to be discussed and resolved.”

Although Larry has remained quiet on the subject, telling Access Hollywood on Monday morning in Beverly Hills that he “did not want to talk about it,” his lifelong friend Sid Young seemed to hint the divorce may not happen after all.

“I don’t think he wants to split,” Young told Access.

Last week, despite rumors of infidelity, Larry and Shawn were seen embracing as they watched their son, Chance, play baseball in Beverly Hills on Thursday night.

Amid the relentless snapping of photos by the paparazzi, they greeted each other with a hug and smile.

Following the game, the couple exchanged what appeared to be a few pleasant words, before being escorted by police to their cars.

Earlier in the day, the talk show host was hounded by paparazzi at a Beverly Hills pizzeria owned by actress Cathy Moriarty.

“Did you cheat on you wife Larry?” a paparazzo asked Larry, who only smiled back. “Is it true? Is it true? Did you cheat on your wife?”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, last Thursday, Larry’s attorney confirmed to Access that the couple did not have a prenup, but noted there was another agreement in place that would be brought up during their divorce proceedings.
