Laverne Cox Apologizes To Metallica For Leaving Their Name Out While Introducing Their Performance With Gaga

"Doubt" actress Laverne Cox has turned to Twitter to apologize to Metallica for leaving the rockers' name out while introducing their performance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

"We all begin somewhere. Great bands usually begin in someone's garage or a basement or some empty warehouse. And if they're really good, part of them always stays there. Ladies and gentlemen, and all my gender non-binary peeps watching tonight, eight-time Grammy award winners and six-time Grammy award winner Lady Gaga," Laverne said on stage, missing mentioning Metallica's name after noting the band's Grammy-win count.

"I am so sorry to #Metallica and all their fans. I am told I didn't say their names during the intro. Love you Metallica.  You Rock. #Grammys," Laverne wrote on Twitter on Sunday night.

That wasn't the only hiccup surrounding the Metallica/Gaga team-up at the Grammys.

Mic problems meant viewers couldn't hear Metallica frontman James Hetfield's vocals at the start of the song.

James ended up joining Gaga on the mic mid-song, and the collaboration turned out to be one of the highlights of the night. His vocals were fixed for subsequent airings of the broadcast.
