Lawyer: Arnold Schwarzenegger Postpones Future Film Plans To Focus On ‘Personal Matters’

Following the breakup of his marriage to Maria Shriver, and the scandal that erupted after it was revealed earlier this week that he had illegitimately fathered a love child with another woman, Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be getting back to work anytime soon.

On Friday, a lawyer for the star issued a statement revealing that the former Governor of California was putting his return to films on hold to focus on “personal matters.”

“At the request of Arnold Schwarzenegger we asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects currently underway or being negotiated to stop planning until further notice,” Patrick Knapp, entertainment counsel to Schwarzenegger, said in a statement posted on the Creative Artists Agency website.

“Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes ‘Cry Macho,’ ‘The Terminator’ franchise and other projects under consideration,” the statement continued. “We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Shriver and Schwarzenegger have separated. In recent days, he confirmed he had a child with a member of his household staff over a decade ago.

Shriver has reportedly retained divorce lawyer Laura Wasser.
