Lea Michele: Kate Hudson Helped Me Through Cory Monteith’s Death – I Stayed At Her House

Lea Michele found a friend in “Glee” guest star Kate Hudson following Cory Monteith’s death.

The 27-year-old actress tells Elle she called Kate, 34 (who played her NYADA dance teacher, Cassandra July, on the show), after Cory’s sudden death in July.

“I called [Kate] and said, I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with press.] She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing,” Lea told the mag in an interview for their December issue.

“She let my family stay there, and any of my friends,” she continued. “She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices.”

Lea said she’ll be eternally grateful to Kate for her support .

“I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me,” she said.

The actress also revealed that she and Cory actually dated when “Glee” first premiered, but their first run at romance stayed under the radar as “no one really caught on.”

They gave it another shot in 2011.

“We just looked at each other and we were like, ‘You wanna do this?’ We knew,” she said.
