Liberty Ross Talks Rupert Sanders’ Affair With Kristen Stewart: ‘It Was Horrible’

It’s been over a year since photos of Kristen Stewart kissing Liberty Ross’ then-husband, Rupert Sanders, were splashed across the face of every tabloid on the newsstand, and Liberty has finally spoken out about the scandal that destroyed her marriage.

“It was horrible,” the model told Vanity Fair in a new interview, of Rupert’s fling with Kristen, who starred in his 2012 film, “Snow White and The Huntsman.” “It was really the worst, really the worst.”

Liberty said she learned of her husband’s affair when he told her he had strayed – 20 hours before the damning photos were made public. The shocked wife took her two children to a friend’s private home, where she tried to maintain as much privacy as possible.

“I was able to be there completely secluded,” she said. “I just visualized [being] this sort of Masai warrior. I was just going to stand very still and very strong, and just let it all roll past me. I tried to keep as far away from it as I could and to understand that this is my family and it’s the most precious thing to me.”

After much reflection, Liberty came to the conclusion that she couldn’t stay married to Rupert, her partner of 16 years.

“I’m not a quitter,” she said. “I’ve done everything I could to be the perfect wife and mother and really support my husband. But I just didn’t have any more to give, you know?”

Now, Liberty – who is rumored to be dating music mogul Jimmy Iovine – is rising from the ashes.

“I have no words to describe what we went through,” she said. “But I think, for me, something always has to completely die for there to be a rebirth. And, for me, I feel like I’m going through a rebirth.”
