Linda Gray Saddles Up For ‘Dallas’ Return; Jesse Metcalfe Joins Cast As Bobby’s Son

Some of the biggest names in TV history are heading back to “Dallas,” 20 years after they first said goodbye, but don’t expect Sue Ellen Ewing to have settled into life as a lounging wealthy senior citizen when the show returns.

“She’d probably be a powerhouse,” Linda Gray told Access Hollywood of what she expects to have happened with her character, which she will revive shortly in a pilot for TNT.

“We don’t mess with Sue Ellen,” Linda added as she hit the red carpet for New York Fashion Week’s Red Dress show on Wednesday night. “You don’t mess with Texas and you don’t mess with Sue Ellen.”

The new series, which will also feature the original J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) and Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy), has a host of new faces joining the legendary Southfork oil-wealthy families, which were first introduced to American audiences in the late 1970’s.

TNT confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday that former “Chase” and “Desperate Housewives” hunk Jesse Metcalfe had been cast as Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, other young stars set for the pilot include another “Housewives” vet — Josh Henderson — and Jordana Brewster from “Fast & Furious,” whom TV fans best know for playing Dr. Jill Roberts in NBC’s “Chuck.”

Josh will play John Ross, J.R.‘s son.

Jordana will play Elena, who becomes involved in a love triangle between John and his cousin – Christopher.

The new “Dallas” will focus on the Ewing offspring as they clash over the family dynasty.

No airdate has been set for the pilot’s premiere.

A film version of “Dallas,” to which John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez were at one time attached, never got off the ground after being shopped around in 2007.
