Lindsay Lohan Skips ‘Machete’ Premiere; Co-Stars Wish Her Well

Despite having a small part in the film, Lindsay Lohan did not attend Wednesday’s Los Angeles screening of “Machete,” but her co-stars wished her the best from the red carpet.

“We’re celebrating the movie tonight. So everyone that’s in it, this is for them,” Jessica Alba told Access Hollywood when asked about Lindsay, who was released from rehab on Tuesday after 22 days.

Director Robert Rodriguez told Access, “She will see it very soon. She’s terrific in the movie. She’s really fantastic.”

Electra Avellan — Rodriguez’s niece whose character, Nurse Mona, shares the screen with Lindsay — said bonding with the actress and the rest of her co-stars was a great experience.

“Getting to know Lindsay Lohan was amazing. Jessica Alba, Robert De Niro [also,]” Electra said, explaining that working with Lindsay was “groundbreaking.” “She taught me a lot. She taught me how to pose with guns and look like a bad ass.”

Electra told Access she’s glad that Lindsay is back at work.

“I am very sorry [she couldn’t be here,] but she’s working. So, that’s amazing, the fact that she came out and she’s straight into work and so excited for her life and what’s about to happen to her,” Electra continued. “It’s going to be incredible… She’s back on top.”

Danny Trejo said the “Machete” gang has been in contact with the actress.

“She’s got her own little thing going on and she’ll be alright,” he told Access. “We’ve already reached out to her and she’s going to be fine.”

“Machete” hits theaters on September 3.
