Lindsay Lohan’s First 24 Hours In Jail: What She Experienced

Lindsay Lohan has now been in jail – at the Century Regional Detention Facility, in Lynwood, Calif., for more than 24 hours, but what has that time been like?

According to a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, Lohan has been “extremely cooperative and everything is going smoothly.”

Lohan’s first visitor came on Tuesday, the day she was locked up. It was from her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, who told Access Hollywood, “She’s doing her best to adjust to a stressful situation.”

Access has learned from a source that Lohan was not required to remove her hair extensions and she is being housed inside cell No. 28, within the East Tower of the facility. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, that is next door to where Paris Hilton was housed in 2007, and where Alexis Neiers, the Burglar Bunch member who starred in the E! reality show “Pretty Wild,” was being housed.

Neiers — who ran in the same circle as those who are accused of ransacking Lohan’s home — is in jail, serving a 6-month sentence for her role in burglarizing Orlando Bloom’s home.

As for Lohan, according to the New York Daily News, upon arrival in handcuffs, several inmates cheered and yelled, “God Bless You!” to the actress through glass, prompting her to smile.

According to former Lynwood inmate Carolyn Linker, part of the processing protocol involves being strip searched.

“They strip you out completely,” Linker said. “They have you bend over, grab your knees, have you spread your… you know…whatever… They have you cough and it’s like, really embarrassing.”

Khloe Kardashian experienced that in 2008 during her time in Lynwood. Kardashian previously told Access that despite serving just hours of her 30-day sentence, the experience was terrifying.

“The prison was put on lock down. A person had a seizure that was handcuffed next to me,” Kardashian said. “I was in solitary confinement. I got transferred prisons. Like, so much happened in that time.”

Upon her release in 2007, Hilton told Larry King on “Larry King Live,” that, at times, it was the food that terrified her.

“The only hot meal was like again this mystery kind of, they call it jail slop. So it wasn’t that tasty,” Hilton said.

At least it appears Lohan’s time in jail will be cut down to around two weeks. Access has learned her projected release may be August 1 or 2, which reflects all the credits Lohan is likely to receive.

It also appears, according to TMZ, that Lohan will also receive some of her prescription medication including Adderall, used to treat ADHD, and Ambien, a sleep aid. This report was especially troubling for Lohan’s father, Michael, who claims his daughter is an addict.

“In jail she’s not gonna have to get off the scrips,” he previously told Access Hollywood. “She’s a manipulator, she’s a drug addict and she’s probably the best in the world. She will convince them that she needs this and that not because she’s on it, she’s addicted to it.”
