Maggie Grace Returning To ‘Lost’ & More Season 6 Secrets Revealed

As “Lost” heads into the home stretch of its sixth and final season, writer / executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are asking fans to trust them, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“Whether you like it or not, you’re in the care and we’re driving. You have to basically trust us not to go off the road,” Damon told the mag.

“If you’re feeling sick, roll the window down and throw up,” Carlton added. “But don’t get out of the car.”

The mag revealed that the 16-episode final season, which aired its fourth episode on Tuesday, is split into three acts – the first will end on March 2, with an episode centered on Sayid (Naveen Andrews), and will “shift” the show’s focus from the Others’ temple storyline that has loomed large in the season’s early episodes.

The next section will find the castaways choosing sides – either with the imposter Locke (Terry O’Quinn) or against him, but Carlton cautioned that the character – despite the show’s black-and-white symbolism – wasn’t necessarily good or evil.

“Our focus is on that battle as it exists within each character,” he said. “Who is good? Who is evil? And how do our characters line up?”

The producers also acknowledged that several of the show’s mysteries – including the stories of Richard Alpert and the Black Rock – would be answered, while others – the Pearl Station notebooks, for instance – would not.

“I would much rather go through the rest of my life under the misapprehension that David Blaine can actually levitate,” Damon said. “It’s just more fun, isn’t it?”

And among the show’s surprises is the return of Maggie Grace, who played Shannon on the first two seasons of the show before her untimely death at the hand of Ana Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez).

“We’re really excited about having her back on the show,” Carlton told the mag on Tuesday. “And we have a good story for her.”

Ian Somerhalder, who played her brother, Boone, in the show’s early seasons (before his own fateful end), made a return in the sixth season’s premiere. Other previously deceased characters expected to pop up once again include Michael (Harold Perrineau) and Libby (Cynthia Watros).

Shannon’s return prompts questions of whether she will once again spark up a relationship with Sayid in the show’s still-unexplained 2004 timeline – or if he’ll make his way once more to his beloved Nadia (Andrea Gabriel), who, according to E! Online, will also make an appearance in the final season.
