Marc Anthony On His New Album, Tour, ‘HawthoRNe’ & The Key To His Successful Marriage

With an international tour looming, 3-year-old twins and a new series regular role on TNT’s “HawthoRNe,” superstar singer Marc Anthony says “careful planning” is the key to balancing it all.

“If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life,” Marc told Access Hollywood in an exclusive backstage interview at “American Idol” in LA last week. “Just careful planning. I’m looking forward to all of it and it’s up to the management team and all of that to schedule it. You wake up and go, ‘OK, here’s what I got to do today, all fun. Let’s do it.’”

The “I Need To Know” crooner will release his new Spanish language album, “Iconos,” in May, and fans should expect some exciting collaborations on his eleventh studio effort.

“I’ve been working with [producer/songwriter] Red One– it’s my first album in about ten years and I could not be more excited,” he told Access. “…I was just ready and sometimes it comes across as easy when you just need to unload all these ideas that have been swimming around in your head. But we’ve been working intensely at home.

“I built a recording studio and I’m so happy with what we’re doing,” Marc continued. “It’s going to be interesting.”

The Puerto Rican artist, who married fellow Latin superstar Jennifer Lopez in 2004, revealed the secret behind his and Jennifer’s lasting relationship – letting his wife be right “99.9%” of the time!

“I think I’ve lost my personality. Whatever she says is always right,” Marc jokingly told Access. “’Honey, I don’t know what I was thinking. You’re absolutely right — what is wrong with me?’

“That was good, right?” he continued with a smile. “When I wake up in the morning [I say], ‘Sorry, honey. I don’t know what I was thinking,’ just in case I did something wrong.”

All kidding aside, Marc plans to bring his “always right” wife and their two twins, Max and Emme, along for his tour whenever Jennifer’s “American Idol” and own music schedule eventually allows.

“Yeah, absolutely,” he told Access, when asked if his beautiful family would accompany him on tour. “Every chance I get!”

“HawthoRNe” returns to TNT on June 14 at 10 PM.
