Marvel’s Stan Lee Talks ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot & ‘Iron Man 2’ Cameo

Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and director Sam Raimi have all left the “Spider-Man” franchise, and now Sony is planning a reboot with a young Peter Parker – and Marvel’s Stan Lee told Access Hollywood that it’s “a good idea.”

“I think it’s a good idea, personally. I think that after a while, things seem a little the same. You feel, well, it’s like the one I saw,” Stan told’s Laura “Dish of Salt” Saltman on the set of “The Big Bang Theory,” where he was shooting scenes for the CBS comedy on Monday.

“Making him younger, playing up the problems of a teenage kid with a super power, which is the way he was originally written when we first did the book, I think it will be interesting,” the Marvel Comics icon continued. “Naturally, a lot of the fans are saying, ‘No! We don’t want to change!’ But they always say that. I think, when it comes out, it’s going to be great! And I’ll have a cameo, so how bad can it be?”

But before his “Spider-Man” reboot cameo, fans with a keen eye will be able to spot Stan in a cameo in the upcoming “Iron Man 2”

“In ‘Iron Man 2’ – I don’t know if I am allowed to say this…I was supposed to do something else, and all of a sudden the director, Jon Favreau, he said, ‘Wait a minute Stan. I want you to put on suspenders and wear horned rim glasses.’ And I think he wanted me to [be] Larry King!”

And Stan thinks his Larry King-esque cameo will have people lining up for tickets to sequel.

“That movie is no doubt going to be a hit, because everyone is going to want to know what is this ridiculous thing Stan is doing in that movie?” he joked. “I’ve got to see it!”
