Matt Bomer On Beefing Up For Film Magic Mike

Matt Bomer is always finely dressed as con-man-turned-FBI-consultant Neal Caffrey on USA’s “White Collar,” but he thinks the fans of his television show won’t mind seeing him in less clothing in the upcoming male stripper film “Magic Mike.”

“I feel like they’re gonna come out and support and enjoy it,” he told Access Hollywood on Tuesday, as he was honored with Park & Bond’s Most Stylish New York Dad award, an honor that helps benefit the Boys Clubs of New York.

“I’m really, really proud of the movie,” he added of the film with his former college buddy Joe Manganiello, as well as Matthew McConnaughey, and the man whose life the Steven Soderbergh film is loosely based on – Channing Tatum.

Matt has taken his shirt off a few times on “White Collar,” but it’s a different physique he’s sporting for the big screen “Magic Mike,” which opens on June 29.

“I think I put on maybe 10 or 15 pounds for the film, because it’s a lot of pressure to go out there for anybody and start dancing in front of a group of strangers,” he told Access.

Like many dads, Matt is looking forward to Father’s Day, which occurs this coming weekend. But he told Access Hollywood he doesn’t have big plans.

“We’re just gonna hang with the family, barbecue,” he said. “With three boys, it’s pretty kinetic around the house… We like to swim, have a barbecue, stay outside.”
