Matthew McConaughey Dishes On Daddy Duty

Matthew McConaughey has entertained millions of moviegoers over the years, but his most important role is being a father to son Levi and daughter Vida.

“I’ve got more to live for now, that’s for sure!” the actor told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday’s Access Hollywood Live.

“Obviously, you stop living as much for ‘me’ and living for ‘we,’” the actor said of his two children with longtime partner Camila Alves. “Everything I’m doing, my kids are doing with me… every move I make has to do with them.

“And now they’re my epic,” he continued. “I make films, but that’s my… they’re my epic.”

Despite now being responsible for son Levi, 2, and daughter Vida, 14 months, the star of “The Lincoln Lawyer” said he’s still living life to the fullest.

“I haven’t pulled back on my sense of adventure… a lot of people say, ‘You have children, you have a family, boy, the life you had comes to a screeching halt,’ and you start over,” he told Billy and Kit. “That has not been true for me, and a lot of that is testament to Camila and myself and my family and how we go about our life.”

Matthew’s free-spirited nature appears to have been passed down to his youngest.

“Vida really likes to eat dirt,” he said with a laugh. “Vida’s a little more rough and tumble and she’s the young lady.”

The proud papa said he and Camila approach parenting in an easygoing way, especially when it comes to the kids’ bumps and bruises.

“We don’t make a big deal about falling down,” he explained. “Our medicine, that they’ve learned, is rub it… whatever it is, rub it!”

The actor’s latest movie – “The Lincoln Lawyer” — hits theaters on March 18.
