Mayim Bialik Using Natural Labor Techniques To Cope With Car Accident Injury

Mayim Bialik’s car accident that left her hand injured is causing the actress to feel like she’s having a baby!

The 36-year-old “Big Bang Theory” star stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday, where she revealed that she’s using the same techniques she used while giving birth to cope with the pain of her hand injury.

Mayim credits “lots of deep breathing” as a way to manage her discomfort and lower her blood pressure, as the actress has opted to skip pain medications while she recuperates.

“Everything I used for natural labor, I absolutely used at the scene of this accident,” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, admitting that her injury is still “very painful.”

Following the accident, the Emmy-nominated actress’ first thought was about her family and her responsibilities as a parent.

“I remember thinking, ‘I’m a mom, this is not happening. I have kids waiting for me, it’s my son’s birthday!’” she explained.

Mayim, who was back to work on her hit CBS comedy the day after her accident, said they are getting creative about concealing her injury.

”[We’re] hiding it every which way we can, I’ve been at work every day,” she said. “Work has been really amazing getting me in and out and giving me breaks.”

The actress, who is nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series category for her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on the CBS comedy, said she’s looking forward to her big night at the Emmy Awards, despite having to wear a cast on her hand.

“I can get this whole contraption in black for Emmy night,” she said, referring to the splint on her hand. “That’s really what’s important, right?”

“The Big Bang Theory” returns on September 27 at 8 PM on CBS.
