Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are the latest celebrity couple to split.
The couple has ended their relationship after almost nine years together, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
“Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated,” the singer’s rep told Access.
“We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period,” the couple added in a statement.
The singer, 48, and Tammy, 35, exchanged vows in front of family and friends in Malibu in September 2003 – prior to same-sex marriages becoming temporarily legal in Calif. (in 2008).
Tammy – formerly Tammy Lynn Michaels – had their twins, son Miller Steven and daughter Johnnie Rose, in 2006.
The “Come To My Window” singer has two other children, Bailey, 13, and Beckett, 11, with her former partner, Julie Cypher.
