Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Sets Record Straight ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 2 Rumors

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is confident he and his gang will be back on MTV for Season 2 of his hit reality show “Jersey Shore.”

On Monday, after a host of reports surfaced that MTV was considering replacing The Situation’s gang if they didn’t agree to the network’s Season 2 contract offers, Mike spoke with Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and radio’s “The Billy Bush Show” to set the record straight – “Truth or Dare” style.

Billy brought up one report, which suggested that MTV had offered the cast a $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode for Season 2, a deal that The Situation’s crew reportedly rejected. But Mike said that rumor wasn’t true.

“I gotta say false,” Mike told Billy. “Everybody has their own way of doing things and I can only really speak for myself and know that we are making a Season 2 happen.

“The numbers that were offered… I really can’t speak about numbers,” Mike continued. “But I believe everything is being worked out this week. I am being a gentleman right now and we are trying not to speak about numbers.”

Billy also asked The Situation about reports that the cast is negotiating deals similar to how the cast of “Friends” approached their contracts – where each cast member will paid the same for each episode.

“I would have to say that would be true because me being one of the leaders of the group, most of the cast will call me up and they will say, ‘Mike, is everything OK?’ and usually I will give the heads up,” Mike explained. “We are a big family and we really are close and friends in real life. I think that is what makes the show so good.

“As it comes to negotiating, we know that there will be a Season 2 and we hope MTV will have us back and I am pretty sure that is going to happen,” he added.

When it comes to the rumor that MTV wants the “Jersey Shore” Season 2 deals signed by the end of business day on Monday or the cast will reportedly be replaced, Mike told Billy that report isn’t correct.

“I would have to say that is false,” he said. “I believe that the cast we have right now is irreplaceable and once you find that magic, it is hard to replace.”

When Billy asked if The Situation thought that the cast would stick together during negotiations, Mike was confident the group would stay united.

“Yeah, as far as I know,” he said. “I speak with everybody. I don’t know if I want to go as far as to say I speak FOR everybody,” Mike explained. “Me, Pauly and Snooks, we are very tight. We speak everyday and we make sure that we stick together and hopefully Season 2, if MTV wants it, we are going to make it happen.”

And The Situation revealed there could be a spin off in the works for one of his castmates, though he remained tight lipped on who could be getting their own show.

Contract negotiations aside, there is one thing that is making the The Situation very happy in his real life — the abundance of female fans.

Mike told Billy that he has to wear a hat and sunglasses everywhere he goes because the fairer sex go crazy when they see him.

“Women are asking me to sign them,” he revealed. “They are screaming, they are crying. This is something I don’t think has happened in a very long time.”
