Miranda Lambert: I Really Respect Blake Shelton, But I Can’t Follow Him On Twitter!

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have been happily married for over two years, but the “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer says there’s one place she can’t deal with her “The Voice” coach husband – Twitter!

“I don’t follow [Blake] on Twitter,” Miranda told Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle in a new interview ahead of the CMA Awards in Nashville. “Sometimes I’m just like unfollow, unfollow. Like, I can’t do it!

“And sometimes I’m like OK, what’s he up to today?” she added. “I’ll follow him again.”

While Blake’s Twitter antics are sometimes outrageous, Miranda said she looks up to her husband.

“Blake is really smart. I mean, he jokes a lot of the time – he’s not serious very often, but he’s really smart,” she said. “And when he chooses the moments to be serious and has ideas, and kind of suggests things to me about my career or something I’m doing, I listen, because he’s been at it a lot longer than I have too.”

Adding, “And so I respect him not only as my husband, but as another artist that’s really successful.”

Between Miranda and Blake, the country power couple is nominated for a total 10 CMA awards – a blessing Miranda said she still can’t wrap her head around.

“I just get overwhelmed. I mean, I really am overwhelmed with our life in general as a couple, you know?” she said, of how she’s feeling about tonight’s big ceremony in Nashville. “You grow up wanting to be a singer and then you know see Tim [McGraw] and Faith [Hill] and you’re like, ‘That would be amazing to have their romance,’ and now I’m married to an artist. And we’re at these award shows together as a couple and we both have nominations, and we’re celebrating these great moments together, and so I’m just kinda like OK, what’s the catch? Is this my life?! Surely it can’t be true, you know?

“And I’m so nervous every time I’m you know, especially at the CMAs because it’s like all of the people I respect,” she continued. “All of my peers are standing there, and not to mention the millions of people watching on TV, and just the pressure of it all. I’m usually a nervous wreck.”

Despite their superstar status, Miranda said she and Blake treasure the time spent at their secluded farm in the woods of Oklahoma (with their six dogs!).

“When we go to our farm in Oklahoma all of this turns into a different life,” she said. “And we love this life – we love touring and ‘The Voice’ and all of that stuff, but when we shut that gate we are absolutely hillbillies from Oklahoma. We are completely different people.

“We’re just normal people and our little town we live in, they treat us that way and there is no paparazzi in Tishomingo, Oklahoma,” she continued. “So that’s one reason that I feel like keeps us just grounded and keeps our roots and keeps us level-headed as a couple and as artists and as everything else— just goin’ and being normal. Going to the grocery store and hanging out watching TV and having that time. Even if it’s a day, it gives you time to recharge the battery.”
