Morgan Freeman: Hand ‘Paralyzed’ Following Car Crash

Five months after a serious car crash in Mississippi, Morgan Freeman is still without the use of his left hand.

When Access caught up with the Oscar winner on Thursday night at the Living Legends of Aviation event in Hollywood, Freeman revealed his hand is still paralyzed.

“I wound up with a lot of nerve damage in my arm, so the hand is still paralyzed,” Freeman told Access. “So until the nerves get down there…”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the actor and friend Demaris Meyer were involved in an accident last August that saw his vehicle flip over, while heading to Freeman’s home in Charleston, Mississippi.

Following the crash, Freeman underwent surgery to repair his broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage.

When it came to this year’s Oscar nominations, Freeman, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his work in 2004’s “Million Dollar Baby,” had nothing but praise for his late “Dark Knight” co-star Heath Ledger, who is now up for the same award.

“He actually was ‘The Dark Knight,’ so yeah, we knew he was going to get it,” Freeman added. “Now hopefully they’ll give it to him.”
