Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are engaged, Access Hollywood has confirmed.
“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” the couple said in a statement to Access on Thursday.
The pair began dating in 2006 (in the wake of Nick’s highly-publicized divorce from his first wife, Jessica Simpson), after Vanessa starred in the former 98 Degrees singer’s music video for “What’s Left Of Me.”
The charming couple split in June 2009, but reportedly rekindled their romance in August.
This will be the first marriage for Vanessa, who will turn 30 on Tuesday, and the second for Nick, 36.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Vanessa recently revealed that she and Nick have found a way to reconcile their busy schedules – by showering together.
“We shower, honestly, at least twice a day. We shower in the morning and we shower at some point during the day or before bed. It’s so funny because we’ve turned it into an intimate time for each other,” Vanessa told Parade.com in October.
“We both have our own shower heads so we just talk while we’re soaping up and doing our hair,” she said. “You’re in your full form, so to speak, and you’re vulnerable and we just both let our guard down. I’ve had some of my most intimate conversations with him in the shower.”
