Nicki Minaj Makes Nice With Fellow American Idol Judge Mariah Carey

It appears there is peace at the “American Idol” judges’ table – but will it last?

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with Nicki Minaj at the American Music Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles where she weighed in on the headline-making reality TV feud with fellow new judge Mariah Carey.

“You know what, she’s an icon. I respect her. I’ve always respected her,” Nicki, who took home two awards – Rap/hip-hop artist and Rap/hip-hop album – on Sunday night, told Shaun.

“But you know, we’re human and things happen,” the artist, who sported a vibrant electric yellow Monique Lhuillier gown (the same dress “Modern Family’s” Julie Bowen recently wore to the Emmy Awards), continued.

Nicki might be saying that she and Mariah have put away the claws, but “Idol” host Ryan Season says fans will want to tune in for plenty of unexpected moments.

“This will be the most unpredictable panel on our live shows we’ve ever had,” Ryan told Shaun.

“American Idol” returns for its twelfth season on January 16 at 8 PM on FOX.
