On The Download: Christina Aguilera’s ‘Not Myself Tonight’

X-tina is back! Christina Aguilera went “Back to Basics” on her last album, but now she’s ready to hit the dance floor with her new single “Not Myself Tonight,” the first release from her forthcoming album, “Bionic.”

The tribal-beat infused track is her sexiest record we’ve heard since 2002’s “Dirrty.” She sings, “I’m dancing a lot / Taking shots and I’m feeling fine / Kissing all the boys and girls/ Someone call the doctor, ‘cause I lost my mind.”

“Not Myself Tonight” is a high-octane anthem that is sure to get tons of requests at nightclubs all over. While she gets it going with a sultry whisper asking her fans, “Do you wanna get crazy? ‘Cause I don’t give a f**k,” Aguilera soon belts it out over the pulsing beats showing off her signature vocals. She tells us, “In the morning, when I wake up, I’ll go back to the girl I used to be / But baby, not tonight.”

Aguilera has made an art of reinventing her sound with each of her albums and it seems “Bionic” will have an electronic futuristic feel to it, which may give Lady Gaga a run for her money. The album has collaborations with a variety of musicians including, M.I.A., Ladytron, Santogold and Sia.

“Not Myself Tonight” premiered on Aguilera’s official Web site. The single will be available on iTunes on April 13, and “Bionic” is scheduled for release on June 8.
