Pamela Anderson Heads To Capitol Hill

Pamela Anderson is best known for playing a lifeguard on TV’s “Baywatch,” and the blonde bombshell is still trying save lives — at least, the lives of animals.

Pam announced on her Web site that she is taking her passionate fight for animal rights all the way to the halls of Congress.

“Being a citizen excites me not just because I can vote, but because I can crack the whip on Capitol Hill to defend animals,” Pam said in a statement on her Web site.

Pam will implore the “government to replace a profusion of outdated animal tests with modern technology that is already widely used in Europe.”

The former magician’s assistant will hand-deliver a PETA science report which condemns the Department of Health and Human Services’ failure to seek out alternatives to animal testing.

Though Pam is now a U.S. citizen, she is still keeping roots in her native Canada.

According to her blog, Pam has begun developing her property on Vancouver Island, which has been in Pam’s family for over three generations. The development will add a marina to the property, but will save many original structures and most of the trees.

“It’s important to me to keep the charm – but create something great for Ladysmith, where I was born,” Pam wrote on her Web site.

“I think everyone’s dream is to bring some of their good fortune back home,” she added.
