Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway and Larry Miller in ‘The Princess Diaries’ (Disney)
Despite a report (and the dreams of princesses everywhere!), a third installment in “Princess Diaries” franchise is not happening, Access Hollywood has learned.
A source tells AccessHollywood.com that the project (that was reported by Tracking Board as in the works) is actually not in development.

Back in 2012, Dame Julie Andrews spoke to Access about the possibility of a third installment. The Oscar winner was skeptical of it going forward without Anne Hathaway’s involvement.
“I would never say no because Disney’s so wonderfully clever and inventive, but I would think they’ll stay with just the two because of Annie,” she said at the time.
“The Princess Diaries” debuted in 2001 and was a hit with audiences and at the box office. A sequel, “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” hit theaters in 2004.
