Report: Charlie Sheen & Wife Headed To Counseling

Following his arrest for domestic violence charges on Friday, Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller are reportedly headed to counseling.

According to People, a night of drinking led to the incident that landed the 44-year-old behind bars.

“They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning,” a People source said. “Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand.”

“Charlie went right back to Los Angeles after he was released from jail,” the source continued. “Both he and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling.”

Sheen’s Colorado attorney Richard Cummins told the mag, “They have two children together and they love one another and they’re going to work through what is a difficult time and they’re going to do that together and as privately as possible.”

The mag also reported that despite reports that the “Two and a Half Men” star had split with Mueller, the couple remains together.

“Brooke and Charlie have never been separated,” the source said. “And the boys are fine – so precious. They knew nothing about a fight between their parents.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Pitkin County Sheriffs Office patrol director Jeff Lumsden said in a statement, “Carlos Irwin Estevez, also known as the actor Charles I. Sheen, was brought to the Pitkin County Colorado Jail for booking and incarceration following his arrest by the Aspen Police Department. Estevez had been arrested for Second Degree Assault, a class four felony, Menacing, a class five felony and Criminal Mischief, a class one misdemeanor. All charges are coupled with a domestic violence component.” Sheen was released at approximately 7 PM after posting an $8,500.

A rep for Sheen told Access on Friday that people should wait for the facts to come out.

“Do not be mislead by appearance,” the rep said. “Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion.”
