Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke Weigh In On ‘Dancing’ Loss: ‘J.R. Really Did Deserve That Trophy’

Cheryl Burke said Season 13 of “Dancing with the Stars” was the most special of her career on the show because of the transition of her partner, Rob Kardashian, but she’s not upset over their second-place finish.

“We did the best that we could do when it comes to the dancing. We definitely put in the work,” Cheryl told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent on Tuesday night at “DWTS.” “When it comes up to the people at home, you can’t really be upset about that. They chose their winner, and I respect that.”

When Rob and Cheryl lost to J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff, they were actually ahead in judges’ points on the leaderboard (by one point), only their second time in as many shows to top the competitor rankings.

“We literally were neck and neck,” Rob, who said he now hopes to follow “DWTS” with law school, told Tim. “We just had an awesome experience. J.R. really did deserve that trophy.”

Although there will be no mirrorball on the Kardashian mantelpiece this holiday season, Cheryl received plenty of gifts in the form of gratitude from Rob’s loved ones.

“They thank me every single day for changing Rob into the dancer that he is,” Cheryl said. “We just have a great relationship. They just love this whole experience.”

“Dancing with the Stars” returns for its fourteenth season on March 19 on ABC.
