Rory McCann: The Hound Sets Record In ‘Game Of Thrones’

Rory McCann’s The Hound will get a lot more screen time in “Game of Thrones” Season 4.

“There’s gonna be a lot of blood spilled this year, that’s for sure — and a lot of swearing,” Rory told Access Hollywood at the “Game of Thrones” premiere in NYC, about what’s ahead for The Hound. “My mother’s not happy about it.”

“Apparently I’ve got the record for swear words this year, ” he added.

The Hound (full character name: Sandor Clegane) is currently roaming Westeros with Arya Stark following Season 3’s Red Wedding, and there’s more of their unusual pairing to come.

“Yes, there’s lots more Hound. I mean that was the thing — this is the fourth season, and I was a bit of a sort of spear carrier at the back, didn’t say much for the first [three], but The Hound was going to be brought in gradually and it’s all happening now. My character’s on a great road trip with Arya,” Rory said. “And it’s gonna be crazy this year.”

Rory said his current on-screen co-star, a teenage Maisie Williams, is an impressive young actress.

“She’s amazing. … To be honest, I’m the one that’s getting in trouble,” he said. “I’m the sort of goofy one on set and she’s the one telling me to behave myself. She’s reminding me what my lines are, or where we are in the story because we don’t shoot in sequence and stuff. But it was good fun. We have great fun. … I really respect her.”

“Game of Thrones” Season 4 premieres April 6 at 9 PM ET/PT on HBO.
