Rosie O’Donnell has responded — in poetic fashion — to the headline firestorm prompted after she shared her opinion on the “Today” show that Lindsay Lohan shouldn’t be heading back to work so soon.
“to me/working right now seems like a bad idea,” Rosie wrote in a post on her site, reaffirming her position on the starlet, who is gearing up to play Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie “Liz & Dick,” just weeks after she was released from formal probation with a California court.
“it is not about her talent/it is about her health/lindsay lohan needs help,” Rosie continued of Lindsay, who is working on living a sober lifestyle, following battles with addiction.
Rosie went on to address Lindsay directly, writing “we believe in u/ur not alone/help is available/u r loved.”
Mentioning many of the famous daughters and sons of Long Island, Rosie wrote that she has faith in Lindsay, but felt it was right to speak up, especially due to what happened with Whitney Houston.
“long way from there to here,” she wrote, referring to Long Island and Hollywood. “the exact feeling i had/watching whitney houstons funeral in Newark/we all should have spoken up for her too.”
The actress and former talk show host went on to note that she is pulling for Lindsay.
“lindsay lohan is worth saving/she is the only one who can do it/before it is 2 late/i hope she can finds her value – off camera,” she wrote.
“and then – when she returns – on camera/she will wow us all/once more,” Rosie added.
