Salma Hayek
may have one of the most enviable figures in Hollywood, but says there’s much
more to life than just staying trim.
The
49-year-old bombshell shared a stunning throwback photo of her pre-baby bikini
body on Thursday, along with an important lesson.
Instead of
feeling reminiscent about her younger days, Salma noted in her post that
personal success or happiness isn’t necessarily connected to physical
appearance.

“This was my waist before pregnancy,” she captioned the
sexy snap, in which she’s showing off her famous hourglass shape in a white
two-piece swimsuit with matching sarong.
“Now it’s not the same but my life is so much better,”
she added.

The star is mom to 8-year-old daughter Valentina with husband
Francois-Henri Pinault, whom she married in 2009.
In addition to motherhood, Salma has kept another female-centric
cause close to her heart.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, she has been an
outspoken supporter of women’s rights for years and most recently addressed the
gender pay gap issue at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon in October.
“We are a fantastic generation,” the
Oscar nominee and Chime For Change co-founder told the crowd. “We are the
generation who said, ‘Oh no, we’re not going away at 30. This is gonna change.
I’m not going to work there anymore? OK, I’m going to start my own
industry.'”
