‘Scream 4’ Co-Stars Talk David Arquette & Courteney Cox’s Separation: ‘They Adore Each Other’

Following the announcement of David Arquette and Courtney Cox’s recent separation, the couple’s “Scream 4” co-stars are rallying to the pair’s defense as they begin promotion for the upcoming horror film.

“I don’t think [promoting the film together] should be hard for [David and Courteney],” Neve Campbell told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on Saturday night at Spike TV’s “SCREAM 2010.” “They adore each other, they love each other, they’re great friends. They’re respectful and they’ll continue to be respectful.

“The film is great. I don’t see why it should affect the film,” Neve added.

Emma Roberts, who joins the “Scream” franchise for the fourth installment, echoed Neve’s sentiments.

“While we were shooting, everyone was amazing to each other,” Emma told Laura. “I think [that while] promoting everyone will keep being amazing and professional, and I don’t think it will be a problem at all.”

“Scream” director and horror master Wes Craven, who directed the now-estranged couple for all four of the franchise thrillers, called their separation “very sad.”

“I haven’t spoken to [David] since I read the news — I just heard a couple of days ago,” Wes told Laura. “I hope they work out the best solution for them both, but that depends on what they both need and want.”
