Sean Bean On His Post-‘Game Of Thrones’ Plans, Gears Up To Go ‘Missing’ With Ashley Judd

Sean Bean may have lost his head as Lord Eddard Stark on “Game of Thrones,” but in his new drama for ABC, “Missing,” being dead won’t keep his character from the action.

“Seems like I die in everything,” he laughed in a recent phone interview with AccessHollywood.com.

Bean confirmed to Access that he’s been at work in Europe on the upcoming drama “Missing,” alongside Ashley Judd, which sees the British actor playing the actress’ dead husband. As Judd’s character searches for the couple’s missing son, Bean’s character appears in flashbacks as a big mystery begins to come unraveled.

“It’s a really good piece of work and it’s got a kind of ‘Bourne Identity’ feel to it,” he said. “We’re shooting it in Prague and Croatia and doubling off in Vienna or Paris. It’s taking place all around Europe and [in] some magnificent places. There’s lots of twists and turns in this one. It’s a gripping piece of work so hopefully I’ll be doing this for a while now.”

Just one episode has been shot so far and Bean said he’ll spend the summer shooting the rest of the show, which ABC picked up last month.

“I’m going back in about a week and a half and it starts getting a bit more involved for me,” he said. “You find out it’s not as it seems. They seem to be a happily married couple, both had connections with the CIA, they’ve got a son together and then all of a sudden everything goes haywire and people aren’t what they seem.”

Bean said Judd, who has a lot to handle in “Missing,” has impressed him.

“She’s doing a great job. I mean it’s very physical for her as well. It’s incredible,” he said.

Fans of “Game of Thrones” will recognize Bean’s co-star in another of his upcoming works, the 2012-due film, “Silent Hill: Revelation 3-D.” The newest installment in that franchise, pairs the actor with Kit Harington, the young Brit who plays Jon Snow, Eddard Stark’s illegitimate son in “…Thrones.”

“Kit was playing my 18-year-old daughter’s boyfriend,” he laughed of Harington’s role in the movie the two shot earlier this year in Canada. “It’s quite strange, last time I saw him it was all this leather gear, we both were with long hair and now we’re just wearing jeans and [tennis shoes] and talking American.”

Shooting the project finally gave the former on-screen father and son a chance for a little bit of quality time.

“Yeah, we spent a few times together, but he was mostly in scenes I wasn’t in. He’s a good guy. I think he might be, things [are] happening for him,” Bean said.

While the cast of “Game of Thrones” are gearing up to go back to Belfast, Northern Ireland, for Season 2 of the HBO show, Bean is likely to be spending his fall filming an twist on the “Peter Pan” story – “Pan,” playing the sidekick of Aaron Eckhart, who plays Hook.

“That’s very interesting,” Bean said of the project, which is still being finalized. “It’s all about Peter Pan when he gets older and it’s a bit messed up and it’s quite a good take on it. It’s a good angle.”
