Episode 2: “Unoriginal Sin”

Comediennes Molly Shannon and joined the cast during Season 5 as Carrie Bradshaw’s agents/publishers who take her from columnist to author. Sedaris has appeared across TV and film since her “Sex” stint including taking on Gladys Kravitz in “Bewitched,” opposite Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman.

And Molly Shannon? The former “Saturday Night Live” star recently appeared as Eve in “Evan Almighty,” and alongside Drew Barrymore in “Year of the Dog.” She’s next up in a remake of Aussie show “Kath & Kim,” due out on television in fall 2008.

Episode 5: “Plus One Is The Loneliest Number”

Ron Livingston made his first appearance in “SATC” as writer Jack Berger as Carrie was gearing up for the launch party for her book of columns. The two hit it off immediatley – until that is, Berger drops the “g” word (girlfriend).

Livingston’s role carried him into Season 6, Part 1, until Berger split with Carrie on a Post-It. In recent years, Livingston has done a voice over on “Family Guy” and spearheaded his own series, “Stand-off,” which ran for a season on Fox. He also recently shot “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” alongside Rachel McAdams, due for release in December 2008.

Robert John Burke also appeared in the episode as Walker Lewis, a sexy businessman Miranda had a fling with prior to giving birth to Steve’s baby Brady. Lewis leaves her apartment after Brady’s cries disrupt a night of passion but nowadays he can be seen playing Bart Bass, Chuck’s dad, on The CW’s popular series, “Gossip Girl.”

Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi also made a cameo in the episode as himself. He played a guest at Carrie’s book party.

Episode 6: “Critical Condition”

Apparently, being the ex-girlfriend of Aidan Shaw was not a good thing as exemplified by the look on Heather Graham’s face when alongside fictional “Saturday Night Live” booker Nina Katz, she runs into Carrie in a park. Heather played herself on the show.

Former “Boston Legal” star Lisa Gay Hamilton stepped in as Kendall, a neighbor of Miranda’s who loans the new-mom a vibrating chair to keep a screaming baby quiet.

Before the episode was over, Evan Handler was introduced as fierce lawyer Harry Goldenblatt, the man who not only got Charlotte everything she wanted in the divorce, but eventually got Charlotte too, marrying her in Season 6.

Episode 8: “I Love A Charade”

Star of film, TV and theatre Nathan Lane appeared as Bobby Fine in the Season 5 finale, a man Carrie and the girls thought was gay until he announced he was marrying Bitsy von Muffling. Lane has criss-crossed the entertainment genres since his “Sex” appearance but this August, he’ll be back on the big screen alongside Kevin Costner and and Dennis Hopper in “Swing Vote.”
